Happy Birthday Nathaniel!

Happy Birthday to my precious Nathaniel Joseph!  I can not believe that a year ago Nathaniel was born and my world changed forever!  Everything about motherhood I have loved!  I loved feeling him in my belly and then the moment the doctor placed him in my arms, priceless.  Nathaniel has brought so much joy into Lesh's and my life.  He is full of smiles and laughter and has the best personality.  I thank God for blessing me with such a gift.  Here is my baby through the year!

11 Months Old!

Nathaniel turned 11 months old on December 27th.  At the end of this month he will be 1  year old!  I can't believe it! Everyone says how fast time flies and they aren't lying!  Nathaniel has brought so much blessing and richness into our lives.  He is so funny.  He brings lots of laughter into our house.  He loves his mommy and daddy dearly and his dog too.  He is so active and curious about things and explores every chance he gets.  These are some things that Nathaniel does at 11 months!
-Takes his milk in sippy cups 2 times a day and a bottle at night, but we are giving up the bottle in a few weeks completely.
- Starting to dring whole milk and less formula.
- Can do a few signs sometimes, not all the time-"All done," "milk," food"
-Eats a whole bunch! This boy can eat!  His favorites are bananas, toast, and peas!
-Still sleeps from 7-7 and takes 2 naps a day although this week he hasn't been wanting an afternoon nap so we will see!
-He is cruising like nobody's business!  He can walk with assistance and with one handed assistance.  I have a feeling he'll be walking in the next month or so.
- He makes a new funny face with his face squished and his mouth open showing off his 2 bottom teeth.
-He can stack rings and put balls into his toy to watch them go down the maze.
-Tries to climb on everything!
So many new things are what's happening this month!
My boy is growing!

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.  Luke 2:13-20

Thank God for sending his son for our salvation!

This is an especially sweet Christmas because of our firstborn son Nathaniel.  Lesh and I talked about how this Christmas was so different and way better than any other.  Nathaniel has brought great joy into our lives and he loved Christmas!  Christmas Eve we went to church and then we went to my cousin's house to spend time with my dad's side of the family.  Then Christmas day we got up and ate breakfast then we read the Christmas story to Nathaniel and talked to him about Jesus the baby lying in the manger.  I know he doesn't understand, but we want to share with Nathaniel the true meaning of Christmas, the gift of God found in a baby.  As I read verse 19 in Luke 2, it brought tears to my eyes.  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  I too shared the emotions Mary felt, the moment that Lesh and I cuddled with him in our laps reading the story of Christ's birth.  What a special moment that I will always treasure in my heart.
We opened gifts and I was surprised at how much he enjoyed it!  We frosted sugar cookies and then let Nathaniel take his morning nap before heading over to my In-Love's house.  We had a great time!  We ate too much and Nathaniel loved unwrapping and playing with his new gifts. I am sad that Christmas is over, but the message of Jesus goes on everyday of the year!  Oh, and we started off Christmas week with us being the Holy family.  We were Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus for the our church's Kid's Crazy Christmas show!  We had a fun time.  Warning!!! Lot's of pictures below!!!

Oh, No It's Santa!

Nathaniel went to visit Santa today and he was not pleased!  Nathaniel lately has been afraid of men.  So I knew that my picture of Santa was going to be a crying picture.  My mom and I went to Memorial City Mall to go see the best Santa in town.  He really was a great and picture perfect Santa!  I wasn't too pleased about the lady taking the picture because she could have gotten several good pictures before he started to cry.  I sat Nathaniel on Santa's lap and he sat still with a serious look, but not crying.  She kept trying to get him to smile and I told her he wasn't going to and to snap the picture, but she didn't listen.  Sure enough within 45 seconds he turned around to look at who was holding him and there it went.  This is the best picture we got.  But look! You can see his two bottom teeth that he got just before he turned 10 months.  Merry Christmas to everyone!

10 Months Old!

Nathaniel is 10 months old!  He turned 10 months the day after Thanksgiving.  I can't believe how fast time flies!  This has been a super fun month with Nahaniel able to communicate some.  Here are new things Nathaniel can do at 10 months.

- He claps his hands and says yeah!

-He can give you "five"

-He shakes his head back and forth for "no"

-His face shows understanding of certain words, "look" "Checkers" "dadda/mama"  and lots of others I can't think of at the moment.

-He says "mama" , but still not "dada"  He says "bada" instead.

-He does prefer me as the number 1 parental, but he loves his daddy too!

- When Lesh leaves Nathaniel crawls to the front door stands up and looks out the window on his tippi-toes.  It is the cutest thing ever!

- He walks around the coffee table, along the couch and using toys as walkers.  It won't be long before he takes his first couple of steps on his own!

Here are some pics of my baby boy!

Weight- 22lbs.
Length- Not sure but I think he is 31-32 inches long.
