Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.  Luke 2:13-20

Thank God for sending his son for our salvation!

This is an especially sweet Christmas because of our firstborn son Nathaniel.  Lesh and I talked about how this Christmas was so different and way better than any other.  Nathaniel has brought great joy into our lives and he loved Christmas!  Christmas Eve we went to church and then we went to my cousin's house to spend time with my dad's side of the family.  Then Christmas day we got up and ate breakfast then we read the Christmas story to Nathaniel and talked to him about Jesus the baby lying in the manger.  I know he doesn't understand, but we want to share with Nathaniel the true meaning of Christmas, the gift of God found in a baby.  As I read verse 19 in Luke 2, it brought tears to my eyes.  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  I too shared the emotions Mary felt, the moment that Lesh and I cuddled with him in our laps reading the story of Christ's birth.  What a special moment that I will always treasure in my heart.
We opened gifts and I was surprised at how much he enjoyed it!  We frosted sugar cookies and then let Nathaniel take his morning nap before heading over to my In-Love's house.  We had a great time!  We ate too much and Nathaniel loved unwrapping and playing with his new gifts. I am sad that Christmas is over, but the message of Jesus goes on everyday of the year!  Oh, and we started off Christmas week with us being the Holy family.  We were Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus for the our church's Kid's Crazy Christmas show!  We had a fun time.  Warning!!! Lot's of pictures below!!!
