Date Night!!

My church has a mom's group called Moms @ Second.  It is a group for women with young children and I have truly enjoyed serving on leadership.  I am the hospitality chair so it's my responsibility to make our monthly meetings a welcoming environment and look pretty too.  I have a great team of ladies who help make each meeting look fabulous!  I get to do the 2 greatest things I love to do! It has been such a treat to decorate and meet new women who are in the same stage of life that I am in.

This months meeting we were able to bring along our husbands to our February meeting- DATE NIGHT.  I had so much fun, mind you I am so glad it is over just because of all the work that went into this event.  It was a huge success.  The room looked fabulous and we had 160 people attend.  The speakers were perfect and reminded us that the most important thing we can do as spouses is to pray for each other.  My favorite part was where Steve Seelig, one of our pastors, asked us to take our husband's hand.  He had us pray for each other and then he prayed for our marriages.  What a great picture of an entire room of husbands and wives in prayer for one another.  I pray that everyone who went was blessed by the message and blessed by an evening away from kids to enjoy company with friends and of course each other.  Here are some pictures from the night.

I just have to take a minute to brag on the greatest husband in the world!!!  Lesh has been out of town this week for work in Austin.  He drove 2 hours to come for the date night and then had to drive back for 2 hours after the event because he had to be in Austin early the next morning.  He knew what a huge event this was for me and he cared so much he spent 4 hours driving to spend time with his wife.

Lesh you are such a blessing in my life and I could not ask for a better husband  to be in this adventure of life.  You are truly my best friend, my special Lesh.  I love you!

These cookies were favors that we frosted for over 5 hours!!  It took forever, but it was oh so worth it!  Thank you to Kendra for helping me to bake them, Mindee, Susan, Brandy, and Gillian for helping to line, flood, and decorate the cookies.  You gals are the best!!!

This was the backdrop for our couples "prom" pictures that a professional photographer took for us.
We get to pick them up at next months meeting.  This is Callie, by best friend, who is the Chair for Moms @ Second.  She has rocked the house with this years group and has put in countless hours of work to make this years group a success.  Lots of prayer by her and our friends to make it such a great year.  Yes, she is pregnant with twins.  You are one HOT momma Callie!!!

I can not say enough thank yous to these boys! The two on the left are Lesh's brothers and thier friend on the right.  They served dessert, lit candles, and cleaned up afterwards.  They did an amazing job!!! Thank you boys!

These were the favors we received.  The $5 coupon for Black-Eyed-Pea who so graciously donated the desserts to our event.  Those bags took me from 7pm-12:00am to bag and tie. I underestimated the time it would take to bag these up!  It was so worth it!  I would totally do it all over again.

This is Mr. Nate Gordon, Callie's dad!  He did an amazing job playing great love songs for our evening.

Me and the bestest husband in the world!!

Big thanks to Garth for cutting all the branches we used to decorate the tables and thanks to them for helping greet and all the work they did to make date night a success.

I appreciate all the hours put in by the hospitality team and our Moms @ Second leadership to make this event a GREAT date night!!!

I'm looking forward to next months meeting- JOY in REST!! Wahoo!  I could truly use some rest after this month's meeting!
