Nathaniel is Three!

Nathaniel turned three years old a few weeks ago and I just can't believe it!!  Man has time flown!  He had a very eventful birthday weekend.  On his actual birthday Lesh and I woke Nathaniel up with a breakfast cupcake and sang happy birthday to him.  Then we gave him a train he had been wanting and he loved it!  Lesh had to head to work so Nathaniel, Samuel and I headed to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, (Nathaniel's favorite restaurant) and we invited some friends to meet us there.  Nathaniel had fun playing in the play place with his friends and preschool play house was there so Nathaniel made a bird feeder too.  He really enjoyed his time there.  Then afterwards we went to Toys R Us to get a toy for his special day.  Toys R Us also has a birthday club.  If you sign up on their website you get a call from Geoffrey the giraffe on your child's bday and you go to the store and you get a free balloon and birthday crown.  Nathaniel loves all his treats!  We headed home for nap time and then that evening Lesh and I took Nathaniel to Chuck E Cheeses for games.  He had a fabulous day!

On Saturday we had all our family and our friends the Smiths, over for a birthday celebration.  We ordered pizza and had cake and ice cream.  The kids played and the adults chatted.  We had lots of fun and Nathaniel raked in lots of gifts.  He loved being the center of attention!

At three years old Nathaniel has grown leaps and bounds in a year!  Nathaniel speaks in sentences, but does have a few difficulty with the letters s, l, and f.  The cutest thing is the way Nathaniel says Samuel's name.  He says, "Hamuel" instead.  He is obsessed with Thomas and all his train pals too.  He spends most of his day playing with his train table making each train talk to each other. His personality has cemented itself as well.  He is a performer and loves to make people laugh and to have people watch him.  He is a social butterfly and loves to be around people.  His love language is physical touch and quality time.  He is always giving hugs, kisses, crawling into our laps, playing with my hair while he sits next to me watching TV.  It melts my heart!  He's also very compassionate and cares for others.  He gets so sad when he sees other kids cry or get hurt.  When anyone leaves our home Nathaniel says, "Be careful, theres cars."  Nathaniel is now beginning to phase out his naptime.  He naps maybe 3 out of 7 days, but I still give him rest time in his room and he is content to lay in his bed and sing, talk, roll around a bit.  Mommy still needs nap time!  Nathaniel enjoys praying at meals, nap time and when he gets a boo boo.  I hope Lesh and I can continue to instill a love of learning about God and prayerfully he will come to know the Lord at a young age.

We took Nathaniel for his three year checkup and he weighs 36lbs. 87% and is 3'3" tall 85%.  He is healthy and doctor said he looked great!

Nathaniel we love you so much and are so proud of you!!!
