We waited for an hour but it was okay since I got to feed him before his shots. I also gave him Tylenol because all my friends said it would be best. I was also preparing myself for tears since many of my friends cried during their visits to the doctor.
Dr. Jung finally comes in and plays with Nathaniel for a bit. He looks in his ears, mouth, eyes, checks 0ut his body and the worst of the physical is the hip socket thing. He bends Nathaniel's knee then pushes down hard to feel it move in the socket I guess. Poor baby screamed so loud. Right after Dr. Jung tells me to pick him up and he stops crying. My poor little man! We talk a little while and then he leaves. I really like Dr. Jung. He is so great with the kids and is so easy going.
Then the nurse comes in with the dreaded shots and the second that needle goes in the wailing begins. She did it quickly so I picked him up right away and tried to calm him down. I made it through the visit without crying! I couldn't believe it,. I'm a pretty emotional gal so I expected it, but maybe because I was prepared I didn't. Who knows.. I'm thankful I held it together!
The rest of the day I kept giving him Tylenol and he was a bit fussy the rest of the day. Saturday he did much better and his legs weren't sore from the shots either. So I'm glad that is over!!! I guess we'll have to do this all over again in 2 more months for his 4 month check up.
