Zoo Day

Lesh took yesterday off so we could take Nathaniel on his first trip to the zoo.  Some friends invited us to go with them last minute. We had planned on going to the rodeo, but decided the zoo would probably be more fun.  Wow, did Nathaniel love the zoo!  He was so excited to see all the animals.  Nathaniel has been fascinated with books about animals and their sounds lately.  When he was sick last week Nathaniel would lay on the couch in my lap and have me read the animal books over and over.  I think I read one of them like 20 times in a row.  The first animals we saw I don't even remember their names but Nathaniel totally wanted to touch them!  It was so cute to see how excited he was.  We also took him for a ride on a carousel, but he didn't want to ride on any of the animals.  He was totally freaked out by sitting on an animal.  We sat in a seat and held him in our laps.  I'm sure one day he will not want to get off!  We had perfect weather and we packed a picnic lunch to enjoy with our friends.  Here are some pics from our fun day at the zoo.
