7 Years of Marriage

On March 13th, 2004, I said "I do," to my very best friend.  I am so thankful that God brought Lesh into my life.  God has surely shown us that he created marriage to make us holy rather than for just happiness.  We have learned so much in our 7 years of marriage and know God has many more lessons to teach us.  I love that Lesh makes me laugh.  I love that we can read a book and sit next to each other in silence, or watch our favorite shows, go for jogs together, and of course have adult to adult "discussions."  Like I mentioned earlier, I know God created marriage so that we can become holy because living with another imperfect human sure brings out our weaknesses.  The great thing is that in the midst of our weaknesses God shows up and becomes our strength and he makes beauty from ashes and strength from despair. 

Today we celebrated by driving to the arboretum where Lesh proposed and we had a picnic.  We went for a jog first and then picked up some take-out and laid on a blanket in a quiet spot of grass in the park.  We were surrounded by beautiful red bud trees,  pink magnolia trees, and azaleas.  It was a beautiful spring day to be outdoors.  I am so thankful we married in the spring and get to enjoy the beautiful newness of spring every year.  Oh and I hate that we wearing our running clothes.  If we had dressed nicer it would have been better.  Oh, well, I still love the pics!

This is my favorite tree ever!! I call it a tulip tree, but it is a Jane Magnolia tree.  I want one in my backyard!  This tree just makes me so happy!
